Lianna and Jake’s wedding at The Adolphus felt like stepping into old Dallas glamour: timeless, warm, and quietly grand in all the right ways. From the beginning, they envisioned a celebration that reflected the way they live together: elegant without feeling overly formal, deeply intentional, and filled with the kinds of details that make guests feel instantly at home. “We knew we wanted something very Dallas, very classy, very timeless,” Lianna shared. “We like cute cocktail bars and wanted a little bit of a moody feel, and I felt like the Adolphus captured all of that.”
For Lianna, fashion played a defining role in the overall vision of the day. Her Stephen Khalil gown was dramatic in the most refined way: a lace ballgown complete with a detachable bolero that transformed her look throughout the evening. “I just needed something with a little pizzazz,” she laughed. After discovering a bride in Australia wearing the same gown with a custom cathedral veil, Lianna worked with her bridal team to recreate the look resulting in one of the most striking bridal ensembles of the season.
For the ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lianna carried the rosary from her First Communion, while friends participated throughout the Mass with readings and music selections chosen entirely by the couple. Though they considered a first look, both ultimately decided to save the moment for the aisle. “I immediately tried to lock eyes with Jake,” Lianna remembered. “Being able to hold my mom’s hand while looking at him felt like the most supportive feeling in the whole world.”
Every detail of the reception leaned into the couple’s love of understated elegance. Rich, deep blues echoed the tones of the venue itself, while lush florals and candlelight transformed the ballroom into something that felt both intimate and grand. A suspended floral halo became the centerpiece of the room, casting warmth over the dance floor below. When the newlyweds entered the reception space for the first time, even they were overwhelmed. “This is better than anything I dreamed of,” Lianna said.
Personal touches appeared everywhere throughout the evening. Their signature “something blue” came in the form of Blue Bell ice cream served alongside cake, a tribute to Jake’s family tradition that cake should never be eaten without ice cream. Matchbooks, inspired by Lianna’s collection from cocktail bars around Dallas, appeared throughout the reception, while guests donned custom “Club W” hats as the dance floor filled late into the night.
Their first dance to Michael Bublé’s “Feeling Good” perfectly captured the spirit of the evening: effortless, joyful, and entirely them. After taking dance lessons together leading up to the wedding, the couple floated across the floor with the kind of chemistry that made the choreography feel completely natural. “We still do bits and pieces of it at home,” Lianna shared.
As the night came to a close, Lianna changed into a sparkling second look complete with a dramatic train and crystal heels before the couple made their exit in a vintage getaway car beneath the glow of downtown Dallas. But for Lianna, the moment everything finally settled in happened quietly during dinner, seated beside her new husband while looking around at the room filled with the people who loved them most. “We’re married, and all of these people are here to celebrate us and support us,” she said. “How special is that?”
