On October 7th, 2023, Kelly Simpson and Jeffrey Buzzelli were married in a gorgeous ceremony out front of Arlington Hall. Kelly was immediately drawn to the venue because the pillars out front of the venue so closely resembled her grandmother’s home. Kelly shared, “As a little girl, I always wanted to be married at my grandmother’s house in Longview, Texas. Our family actually just sold it, so it’s not in the family anymore, but Dallas was just a great central location since Jeffrey is from Ohio and I’m from Texas. The sentiment of it looking identical to my grandmother’s house was just so special and we knew we wanted to be married in front of the columns there.” In a unique twist, Kelly and Jeffrey exchanged vows in front of the pillars. “No one had ever done it before the way we did it. Our tented reception was held off of the house.”
Kelly’s inspiration for her wedding was grand millennial, with influence of old southern style as an ode to her grandmother. There was thought and intention behind each and every decision at the Buzzelli’s wedding. The design used on their save the dates was used throughout the decor of their wedding from the dancefloor to the liner of Jerffrey’s jacket. In sharing the details of her wedding, Kelly said “The flower arch that was behind Jeffrey and I when we got married was dedicated to Jeffrey’s late mom. We incorporated her favorite flowers into the arch. All of the flowers in the ceremony were dedicated to the memory of all of our grandparents that weren’t there with us, weren’t able to be with us there on that special day.”
One of Kelly’s favorite moments from the ceremony was walking down the aisle with her father. Right before her dad walked her down the aisle, they played “My Old Kentucky Home”, as a nod to her dad being from Kentucky. “They also played Edelweiss from Sound of Music, which was one of my mom’s favorite movies and Jeffrey’s mom’s favorite movie, so there were all these little details that were very important to us and super special and went off without a hitch.” Kelly shared. As she walked down the aisle she felt a sense of pure joy seeing her groom. “It was such a huge production and a crazy year of planning, just seeing it all come together was beautiful. Then walking down the aisle with my dad to Jeffrey was just such a special moment. Having my brothers in the wedding, and Jeffrey’s sister made it just truly a magical moment.”
After vows were exchanged, the party began at the Buzzelli’s tented reception at Arlington Hall. Inside, hues of light blue and baby pink decorated the room. The tables were topped with greenery and blush pink roses. It was a floral wonderland, any color-loving bride’s dream, beautifully executed by A Charming Fête. Family and friends spent the evening on the dancefloor celebrating the newlyweds before it was time to send them off! Mr. and Mrs. Buzzelli left Arlington Hall in a flurry of sparklers before hopping in the back of a vintage getaway car.
Congratulations to Kelly + Jeffrey!! We are absolutely honored to have been a part of your wedding day.
