Up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Meredith and William tied the knot in a Spring Vail Ceremony. April in Vail is absolute perfection. There is still snow cover on the mountains, but temperatures rise as summer approaches.
For her wedding day, Meredith wore a couture gown by Nardos Imam. The skirt of her dress was dramatic and unique, with multiple layers and floral appliques. The sleeves were reminiscent of Lady Diana’s gown which we still see inspiring weddings decades later! The high-low skirt was perfect for showing off imitable Manolo Blahnik stilettos with crystals embellishing the ankle strap as well as the pointed toe. To complete her look, she added a pearl necklace, earrings and bracelet.
The ceremony took place at the charming Chapel in Vail. Design Works decorated the facade of the chapel with greenery wrapping the railings and a wreath of white florals to welcome guests at the entrance. As guests entered the chapel, a jazz-quartet played to the bride’s Louisiana roots with a banjo, saxophone, guitar and drums. Meredith walked down the aisle accompanied by her father. You could tell the two share a close bond as he gave her away. After officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. Connally, Meredith and William exited the chapel in a shower of rose petals. The Connaly’s lead guests to the reception in an EPIC second line through Vail Village. White umbrellas were distributed for second line members to flaunt in the air.
Reception festivities took place on the Larkspur patio. The patio overlooked the base of Vail mountain and a string quartet also elevated dramatically high above the crowd on pedestals. Guests cozied up in blankets by William’s bourbon and cigar bar. To accompany their bourbon guests donned Fedoras, and words by Mark Twain stitched into linen cocktail napkins charmed those also holding cigars. The party moved inside for drinks and dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Connally kept energy high and PARTIED ON THE MOON. If we could use one word to describe this reception it is FUN! Meredith, crowned queen of personalized styros, provided plenty of party-in-a-cup and neon trucker hats and light up antlers were passed out on the dancefloor. Alas, all good things must come to an end. The night wrapped up in a flurry of neon confetti, and guests were served breakfast before heading home.
Congratulations Meredith and William! You certainly know how to throw a party!
