For Abigail and Cade, the vision for their wedding was never about transforming a venue into something extraordinary. Instead, they wanted every detail to feel as though it had always belonged. Hosted at Abigail’s family home in North Louisiana, the celebration became a reflection of generations of memories, layered with thoughtful design, meaningful traditions, and the people who shaped them most.
The couple first met at LSU through mutual friends, a relationship that eventually led them back to the church where Abigail’s parents were married 37 years earlier and where her older sister exchanged vows just two years before. Flowers quickly became the heart of the celebration. Gardening has long been woven into Abigail’s family history, beginning with her grandmother and continuing through her mother, sister, and extended family. Months before the wedding, everyone pitched in to plant blooms that would eventually become part of the day’s design. “We’re just big flower people,” Abigail says. The family-grown flowers were complemented by lush installations from Colony House, creating arrangements that felt both abundant and deeply personal.
That same sense of history appeared throughout the property. The children gathered around the very table where Abigail and her cousins once played at their grandmother’s house, lovingly restored and hand-painted by her Aunt. Vintage china, family wedding photographs, and heirloom pieces filled an antique cabinet behind the cake, while a childhood playhouse became an elegant lounge complete with hand-painted chinoiserie walls. Even the treehouse Abigail helped her father build at ten years old became part of the evening when she tossed her bouquet from its balcony.
The emotion of the day arrived quietly during her first look with her father. As he opened the door and caught his first glimpse of his daughter, he immediately stepped back inside to compose himself before returning. Abigail, hoping to keep everyone from dissolving into tears, couldn’t resist making him laugh. The same playful spirit carried into the ceremony as she gently teased Cade whenever she noticed him beginning to cry.
The reception unfolded exactly as the couple had envisioned: elegant but inviting, refined yet unmistakably personal. Blue and green tones mirrored the colors already found throughout the home, allowing every floral installation and patterned linen to feel like a natural extension of the property rather than a temporary event. The evening also included surprises for Cade, from an elaborate LSU stadium groom’s cake to the band launching into “Callin’ Baton Rouge” immediately after the cake cutting, sending the dance floor into celebration.
When asked about her favorite moment, Abigail doesn’t hesitate. “Probably just being on the dance floor with Cade. We barely left it the entire night.” Surrounded by lifelong friends and family, they danced beneath the lights until fireworks closed the evening in unforgettable fashion. Looking back through their photographs now, it’s the images filled with movement, laughter, and generations gathered together that mean the most. More than documenting a beautiful wedding, they preserve a home, a family legacy, and the beginning of a new chapter; proof that the most meaningful celebrations aren’t created overnight, but are built from a lifetime of memories.
