We have a lot of love for boxwoods. Whether spotted intricately sculpted in the gardens of Versailles or elegantly potted in boxed treillage on Dallas doorsteps (discussed frequently by our friend Christina Dandar), this European shrub elevates and enhances garden settings. Therefore, it naturally elevates wedding spaces as well, especially for the garden bride!
Boxwoods can often be found used as a stage front hung with lights or as a stage back hung with personalized wedding details like duograms and neon signs. We will never forget seeing the Brook Hollow entrance decked with boxwood and special portraits of the couple hung on top at Katie and Brant’s wedding day. At Arlington Hall, Ashley and Daniel used boxwood trees to line the head table in the center of their Arlington Hall tent. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the potted boxwoods at Le Mas de Poiriers in Provence which even inspired elements of our own studio space. Lastly, Events in Bloom florist uses boxwoods in one of our favorite ways—lining clear-top tents. The metal framing of clear tents isn’t always desirable so the boxwood lining instantly enhances the entire aesthetic! No matter the use, we always love seeing how something simple brings the outdoors in.
