Hattee and William’s love story began in the hallways of Highland Park High School. “We became friends in 2011, and we started dating in 2017! We grew up a few streets away from each other and went to the same elementary school together, but never became friends until we were at Highland Park High School,” Hattee shared. The pair dated for six years before one day, when they were at home, William asked Hattee to come help him in the backyard. “I thought to myself, ‘Wait a second, is something happening?’ and then I saw rose petals and our dogs outside and knew it was the moment.”
As a sweet gesture to her childhood, William proposed with a ring box that holds a special place in Hattee’s heart. “My mom loves antiques. She has had this little antique heart box since I was a little girl. I told my mom when I was little, I was like, ‘When I find someone I want to marry, I want them to have this box.’ Well, her mom remembered and gave it to William when he asked for her blessing to marry Hattee. He got down on one knee, pulled out that special heart ring box, and asked Hattee to be his wife. In that moment, she thought to herself, ‘I’ve been waiting to see this box for so long’ and excitedly said ‘yes!’”
Wedding planning was soon underway, and Hattee enlisted the help of Park Cities Events to orchestrate a timeless and elegant wedding at the DCC. Hattee’s vision for her wedding was classic, timeless, and traditional. “I wanted our wedding to be pretty 100 years ago and pretty in 100 years.” For her bouquet, she chose Lily of the Valley and Stephanotis because they are her absolute favorites. A particularly important aspect of the decor was the flowers. “We used Wisteria in the arches between the gallery and the ballroom. It grew on my childhood home and reminds me of the sweetest memories. Wisteria is also believed to bring good luck and prosperity!”
The Beecherls chose to incorporate many sentimental aspects into the details of their wedding day. When designing their wedding invitations, Hattee and William honored his late grandparents by incorporating the Beecherl crest. For William, it was important to include nods to his family ranch. “It is a place that is near and dear to our hearts. It’s a place he grew up going to and a place where we fell in love! We spend most holidays there and have so many special memories there. His groom’s cake features the Flat Top Ranch logo, and one of our signature cocktails is the ‘Flat Top G Rock!’”
For her something old, Hattee placed a 100-year-old English Sixpence in her left shoe. “The coin was gifted to me by William’s Aunt Cynthia when we first got engaged- it represents luck and prosperity in a marriage,” she shared. As her something new, Hattee wore a stunning diamond bracelet that William gifted her for their wedding. For something borrowed, she wore something special from her mother-in-law, a gorgeous necklace. “I tried it on, and we both knew it was the one! It is such a classic, yet fun piece. It was an anniversary present from William’s dad, making it even more special!” Finally, her something blue was her icy blue pumps with pearl and crystal buckles.
The Beecherls’ reception was a spectacular party at the DCC. A highlight of the night was the conga line of guests that danced around the ballroom. “There ended up being so many people in it, which was really funny! I just thought it was so fun and light-hearted that 60 people were walking around in a line.” Looking back on her wedding, Hattee shared that her friend who caught the bouquet ended up getting engaged just two weeks later!
We wish the Beecherls a huge congratulations and a lifetime of happiness!
