From fifth grade to wedding day! Mary and Preston have known each other since they roamed the halls of middle school and became best friends. “Preston had a crush on me for a while before I started reciprocating those feelings, and then we started officially dating our Sophomore year of high school!” Mary shared.
Mary envisioned her at-home wedding as a garden party filled with roses. Held at her parents’ home, the end result turned out even more impeccable than her vision. Pink roses wrapped the pillars and balcony of the front entryway, extending all the way to the backyard where the tables were set with gorgeous linens and flower arrangements. The bar facade made a statement with the vibrant pattern contrasting the greenery surrounding. “We wanted it to be very elegant and beautiful with roses everywhere, but still a great time!” she said.
Mary and Preston incorporated meaningful moments through their choices in decor and tying in family. “The cake topper on our wedding cake was my grandmothers, and was her first wedding anniversary gift from my grandfather! It survived through damages during Hurricane Katrina, and was passed down to my mom! It was used as the cake topper for both of my older sisters’ weddings, and mine” Mary shared. As a fun nod to their shared history together, Mary and Preston opted for an ice cream truck at their reception. “In high school, Preston and I started an ice cream rating instagram account called @Werateicecream, so we are going to have some of our 10/10 flavors available and napkins that have our ratings on them!” she stated.
The Burnetts’ wedding day was a day of celebrating a love story long in the making set against a scene out of the Father of the Bride. What an honor to be by your side to capture it all, Mary and Preston! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
