Before Lane ever walked down the aisle at The Ocean Club, she had already begun telling the story of her wedding weekend. Rather than hosting a traditional rehearsal dinner, Lane and WB welcomed every guest to the Bahamas with an evening that immediately immersed them in the spirit of the celebration. Designed to feel relaxed and inviting, the welcome party traded formality for connection, allowing friends and family arriving from across the country to gather beneath the palms, enjoy live music, and ease into the weekend together. “I didn’t want to mimic what was happening at the wedding,” Lane shared. “I just kind of started saving things that I gravitated towards and landed on lots of yellow, a lot of pink.”
That vision came to life through vibrant florals, whimsical lanterns, trellis-inspired details, and playful floral flamingos that felt perfectly at home in the Bahamas. Every design decision hinted at the colorful celebration still to come while embracing the effortless charm of the islands.
Fashion became just as much a part of the storytelling. As an interior designer, Lane approached her wardrobe with the same creativity she brought to every other design decision throughout the weekend. Rather than choosing something expected, she created a custom two-piece ensemble inspired by vintage Balenciaga. The look of a timeless silhouette created something that felt simultaneously elevated, nostalgic, and unmistakably personal.”I knew I wanted something that no one’s really seen, and I wanted it to feel vintage,” she explained. WB matched her vision effortlessly in a custom look of his own, including a pink Etro shirt selected by Lane and custom Stubbs & Wootton loafers that reflected the playful sophistication of the evening.
Lane even encouraged guests to embrace the destination through their attire, simply asking everyone to think “Bahamas: light, bright, airy.” The result was a celebration filled with joyful color, effortless elegance, and a sense that every person had become part of the weekend’s visual story. As the sun set and conversations stretched late into the evening, the welcome party accomplished exactly what Lane had hoped. It wasn’t simply the first event of the weekend, it became the first chapter of a celebration where thoughtful design, meaningful hospitality, and unforgettable style would define every moment still to come.
