Family comes first for Monica and JD, so it was only fitting to incorporate them in all aspects of their wedding day. “I am getting married in a church that is very special to my grandparents, parents, and extended family! My elementary school, St Gregory’s, is connected to the church. Growing up, all of my relatives and friends went to mass at Immaculate Conception. It’s a place that holds many happy memories! Marrying JD being the absolute best.” Not only is the ceremony venue important to them, but Monica’s uncle is the officiant adding extra meaning to their vows.
On May 14, 2022, Monica and JD became Mr. and Mrs. Janicek! Their ceremony took place at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with post celebrations at the Willow Brook Country Club. A grand floral arch of white hydrangeas stood at the exterior of the country club. Inside, the ballroom was decorated in green, white and hints of blue. Monica’s vision was brought to life with the help of her planner, Lana Adams. The wallpaper inside the country club seamlessly matched the color palette of the decor. The cake, from Cakes by De’ann, featured clean piping and fresh flowers. “While cutting the cake, our ring bearer/JD’s nephew watched very carefully. He was so concerned JD and I were going to eat the entire cake ourselves. He is absolutely precious and never fails to make JD and I smile.”
Monica described her wedding day as “super classic” with southern charm. One twist of their wedding day is opting out of a groom’s cake. “John David studied abroad in Spain and Mexico. He LOVES churros. We will have a churro bar instead of a groom’s cake!” Delicious!
Loved ones crowded the dancefloor to celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs. Janicek. The evening wrapped up in a tunnel of streamers before the newlyweds jumped in the back of their getaway car and drove off amidst sparklers. “Riding through my hometown in our beautiful getaway car, reliving the most magical day, was so fun!”
