Megan and Chris Hendry’s wedding in Marathon, Texas was equal parts elegant and personal: a whirlwind of planning, joy, and meaningful details pulled off in just five months. With her sister’s wedding already on the calendar, Megan wanted a shorter engagement and quickly landed on the Gage Hotel, a special destination tied to her family’s long love of West Texas. The venue offered full-service support, from florals and food to linens and the cake, making the compressed timeline feel achievable.
Her gown was a customized mix of Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose, chosen after a heartfelt try-on at Neiman Marcus, where she had a quiet moment to picture herself walking down the aisle. The ceremony was held in a restored white chapel, just finished the day before the wedding, making Megan and Chris the first couple to be married there since its renovation. That sense of “right timing” echoed throughout the weekend. From the small-town charm of Marathon, to the guest list of 120 all staying on-site, the event felt intimate and unforgettable.
Two months after their wedding, a surprise pregnancy announcement in the John Cain Photography studio added another layer of joy. Megan shared the news with her parents during a photo album meeting at the studio: revealing a sonogram photo mid-appointment. The John Cain team helped orchestrate the reveal with just 30 minutes’ notice, complete with sparkling cider for Megan and champagne for the rest of the family!

Between the chapel, the family ranch ties, and the carefully planned weekend of togetherness, Megan and Chris’s wedding was a celebration of simplicity, beauty, and the people they love most. “I think about it daily,” Megan shared. “It was such a fun weekend, and I wish we could do it again.”
