Mason and Miles first met in 8th grade, when Miles joined her middle school here in Dallas. “According to him he had a crush on me freshman and sophomore year of high school. We were in the same friend group but we were not super close. Senior year I joined the club tennis team at school where Miles was the captain of the team. I got to see his personality and love for tennis shine and we both just fell in love with one another.” Following high school, they decided to do long distance as he went to the University of Denver and she attended TCU. Long distance came to an end after college graduation when Mason moved to Denver.
Mason and Miles’ wedding day marks almost nine years together! On April 22nd, 2023, the soon-to-be Becks welcomed family and friends to Dallas to celebrate their wedding. Mason spent the morning getting ready at her parents’ house, saying “I loved waking up in my bed on wedding day and being in my home. A home my parents have lived in now for 25 plus years, the home where I spent my childhood dreaming about who my husband would be and what my wedding day would be like. There is something just really special about it.” The morning consisted of listening to music and watching Father of the Bride, Mason’s all time favorite movie. “One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when the father and daughter are playing basketball in their backyard right before the dad meets the man she is going to marry for the first time. It just so happens that my father was my basketball coach when I was little and attended every single one of my basketball games in high school. He’s always been my biggest cheerleader.” In true Father of the Bride fashion, Mason and her dad went outside to shoot hoops the morning of her wedding. “I had curlers in my hair and my white fluffy pajamas on. He called me down stairs and threw a basketball in my hands and said “we are shooting hoops”, and so we shot a few baskets together, just the two of us. I will never forget this moment with my dad on my wedding day.”
The Beck’s ceremony and reception were both hosted at Arlington Hall. It was a gorgeous mid April day for a ceremony out on the lawn. A massive sixty foot floral arch framed the gazebo, right above the altar. A garden aisle of gorgeous white flowers led to the altar where Mr. and Mrs. Beck exchanged their vows. “It was a beautiful combination of our two religions and us becoming one. My favorite part has to be when they wrapped our hands in the priests’ stole and both of us together were wrapped in our rabbi’s shaw. They then did a joint prayer over us, it was so beautiful.”
