At Kiawah Island, Haley and Rivers exchanged vows in a wedding that blended elegance with coastal charm. Their love story, beginning in business school, culminated in a celebration that was as unique as it was unforgettable.
Rivers’ proposal at Flippen Park, during a weekend visit amidst a long-distance relationship, set the stage for their journey to the altar. Haley reminisces, “We were supposed to be meeting our friend’s new girlfriend…outside in 90+ degree weather. He had to convince me to go but I was shocked when we got there!”
For Haley, the theme of their wedding was a reflection of an elegant, chic garden party. The decision to choose Kiawah Island as their wedding destination was a natural one, borne out of their connections to the area. Haley elaborates, “My family spends a lot of time in Telluride, CO and Rivers’ family spends a lot of time in Kiawah Island, SC, so we pursued those two locations. The timing worked out best in Kiawah!”
For bridesmaids dresses, Haley opted for a unique color palette. “I knew I wanted a MOH dress with some white,” she shares. “From there, I chose five paint swatches that coordinated with the Bernadette dress and gave them to my bridesmaids.”
From the ceremony, one moment stands out as Haley’s favorite. “My favorite moment was when we walked down the aisle as husband and wife, and had a few moments to ourselves to process the magnitude of the moment!” she reflects, capturing the essence of the day’s emotional significance.
As the festivities continued into the night, another cherished memory was created when Haley and Rivers changed into boots. “It was a fun nod to my Texas roots!” Haley exclaims, describing the joy of sharing a playful moment with her new husband.
