Sarah Stiles and Sean Duffey never stopped smiling throughout their engagement season and wedding day! The couple met as freshman at the University of Texas in Austin, but didn’t begin dating until their senior year of college after a date at Chili’s. “Best decision I have ever made!” Sarah told us. Three years of long distance dating, Sean proposed to Sarah and they began planning their dream wedding.
The couple, who loves to celebrate and loves a good theme, chose to wed on February 15 at Highland Park United Methodist Church and Brook Hollow Golf Club. In addition to the festive date, Sarah’s parents also wed on February 15, 1992 making this day that much more sentimental. They hired Haylie Paige Events to assist in planning their “weekend of love” executing a classic wedding aesthetic with plenty of pops of fun.
Wedding morning for the bride began at Brook Hollow with the bride wearing white feathered pajamas and her bridesmaids in hearted pajama sets. The groomsmen didn’t miss out on the celebratory attire, either. They pulled on heart suspenders to wear under their tuxes throughout the day. The couple forwent a ‘first look’, but Sarah gave Sean a letter to read before the aisle which she had written after their very first date at Chili’s. As the HPUMC chapel doors opened and Sean saw Sarah for the first time as she walked down the aisle with her father, it was clear this couple was meant to be.
The couple mentioned the value of being surrounded by all the people they love as they took their vows, and their joy was evident as they had their ‘first kiss’ and celebrated down the aisle. Before the sunset on a sunny winter’s day, Sarah and Sean took portraits together around the church and soaked in their newly minted married status.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Sean Duffey entered into Brook Hollow Golf Club and headed straight to the dance floor—which was appropriate for the level of dancing which occurred later that evening—dancing to “This Will Be (an Everlasting Love)” on a white and black checkered dance floor underneath a floral decked chandelier. The pops of fun were found throughout the reception including a pink ombre wedding cake, a neon scripted sign, monogrammed swag, and heart-shaped dance floor props. The couple and their family and friends were found most of the evening on the dance floor, on the stage, and even crowd-surfing off the stage into the hands of wedding guests!
Sarah and Sean ended the night with a pink confetti bomb blowing to the chorus of Crazy in Love by Beyonce before escaping in a white ’63 Rolls Royce. Sarah and Sean’s enthusiastic energy for celebration and each other became intoxicating for all surrounding them on wedding day and made photographing their wedding a complete joy.
