When two Ole Miss Rebels living in D.C. are ready to tie the knot, where do they go? To Texas, of course! At least when the bride wants to incorporate her Dallas roots, that is. With the ceremony hosted at Highland Park Presbyterian Church and the reception at the Arts District Mansion, Dorothy and Wyatt’s night was an elegant display of fun, friendship, and promises of forever.
A flower arch welcomed guests through the church entry into the chapel, where the couple said their vows and the timeless “I do.” But Dorothy’s favorite memory of the evening was after, when Wyatt and her snuck away for dinner, just the two of them. “It felt like such a personal, intimate moment in such a high energy, hectic day,” she gushes.
Dorothy’s vision for the wedding was for it to be timeless, celebratory, and lighthearted. Their glowing smiles throughout the wedding events were proof the vision came to life.
Plus, “the flowers and our photo booth are two details I [was] most excited about,” she says. She also says they imagined how everyone they loved would enjoy different parts of the wedding.
Dorothy and Wyatt met at an Ole Miss football game in the popular tailgating area, The Grove. So it just made sense to have a groom’s cake dedicated to the green space complete with custom cake toppers of the couple in Ole Miss shirts and their two cats, Winnie and Harper.
Their signature cocktails were an old-fashioned and a ranch water that also were named after their fur babies!
Dorothy shone in a strapless gown from Neiman Marcus Bridal. The couple danced the night away surrounded by loved ones adorned in white sequined cowboy hats, a party complete with glow sticks and late night pizza. Without hesitation, she says that “the pictures have been my favorite thing.” The couple uploaded their wedding album to a gifted digital picture frame so they can look at the photos daily. That’s a genuine reflection of our hope that couples would relive magic moments, timeless portraits, and beautiful details for a lifetime.
