Sometimes, a love story seems meant to be a plot line straight from a movie. That’s the case for Lexie and Elliot, who harbored lifelong crushes on one another before they ever got together. Throughout their childhood, their families vacationed together every year. When they finally found themselves living in the same city and single, it only took one happy hour for them to seize the moment. “I’ve had a crush on you my entire life,” Lexie confessed. “I’ve had a crush on you my entire life,” Elliot replied.
A few months later, he bought a ring.
The wedding planning process was just as dreamy. Lexie and Elliot’s parents, lifelong friends, had the opportunity to plan a wedding for their kids. With the families together, Elliot won a prize at a Neiman Marcus event for a custom Alexia Maria gown, which Lexie designed and wore to her rehearsal dinner. And Lexie’s best friend and college roommate, Maddy, represented Pearl Austin Events as the wedding planner.
“I would say all my inspiration for the wedding planning came from Maddy,” Lexie shared. “I knew what Maddy liked, I would love, so all the ideas stemmed from there.” Maddy’s eye for design met Lexie and Elliot’s vision for a wedding that was elegant and timeless.
When the big day arrived, it unfolded like the fairy tale the couple had been writing all along. She spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, her mom, and Elliot’s mom. She even got to sneak in a short photoshoot with her dog Rosie.
Lexie was breathtaking in a timeless Pronovias gown with a detachable high-neck lace overlay. After special reveals to her dad, bridesmaids, and Elliot, they held the ceremony at the stately Cathedral Guadalupe Dallas. Some of Lexie’s favorite photos of the day are from the intimate photoshoot afterward, just her and her groom sitting together in the pews of the quiet sanctuary.
After a rose petal exit, the newlyweds moved to the Hotel Crescent Court for the reception, where sculptural displays of white roses stood against a soft blue and white checkered dance floor. “I danced growing up and in college,” Lexie shared, “a lot of my team mates were there.” With a dance party in mind, both the dance floor and the band were top priorities to the bride.
The couple closed the night dancing with family and friends, many they’d brought along from childhood. As they exited to streamers, it was to the delight of everyone who had loved them all along. “I had my dream fairy tale wedding, and it was incredible,” Lexie said.
