What started as a summer camp love story came full circle for Loring and Joey’s wedding day at Camp Balcones Springs. “Joey and I met at Camp Balcones Springs working as camp counselors! We both grew up going there as campers but attended different sessions, so we didn’t meet until we were both working there during counselor training. We started dating there, got engaged there, so it felt only right to get married there too!” Loring shared. Their shared experiences at camp made it the perfect venue for their nuptials.
Loring described her wedding vision as “classic, playful and fun”, perfectly reflected in the color palette of the decor. “I truly think that’s where I wanted to be unique and fun and chose to spend a lot of the planning on the color,” Loring explained. This was evident in the florals throughout the reception and the incorporation of the camp’s natural greenery and wildflowers. The Belisles went for bold and bright, with every color of the rainbow held in vases dotting the tables. From the ceiling hung beautiful rattan lanterns adding a natural touch. To further incorporate color, Loring worked with My Wedding Wardrobe to source hot pink mix-matched bridesmaids’ dresses that exquisitely coordinated with the vibrant pink dance floor.
The rehearsal dinner celebrated the Texas hill country with everyone donning boots, reminiscent of the camp’s last night traditions. The wedding itself took place in the Camp Pavilion, a location that held sentimental value as it was where Loring and Joey first had a meaningful conversation eight years ago. “Where we said our vows is where we first talked one on one and had a real conversation beyond nice to meet you, so that felt really cool to say our vows where we first talked to one another.”
Joey had a specific request for their wedding—a cigar bar for the guys. “Joey wanted a cigar bar for the guys to be able to use, so we added an area for them to hang out and enjoy outside of the tent with a rustic bar and seating to incorporate the nature around them,” Loring said.
Looking back on her wedding weekend, Loring shared “I truly felt like I have never been at any other wedding like it, especially since Joey and I met there.” We couldn’t be happier to have taken part in such a beautiful and sentimental wedding weekend! Congratulations to the Belisles!
