“Paige is museums and champagne, and Will is Sunday drive and lemonade.”
These words guided the design and ambience of the Paige and William’s wedding reception at the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fine architecture and allure made way for charm and green space. Annie Brady Design, the wedding planner, helped bring this juxtaposition of traditional and whimsical to life.
As the couple brought together various people throughout their lives, they dreamed of creating a space for camaraderie to spark and new friendships to form. “I wanted them to feel warm and appreciated and free to be themselves and enjoy the day,” Paige says.
She and Annie Brady set out to anticipate their guests’ every need, keeping them entertained and on their toes. Cornhole, cozy couches, and a clear flow led guests to enjoy every step of the evening. In addition to the elaborate dinner, woodfired pizzas were offered later for guests to nosh on after drinking and dancing.
Paige’s artistic flair ensured that no detail of the reception went unnoticed. The letters “P” and “W” graced the dance floor and were embroidered on napkins. Chandeliers hung seemingly from the trees. Forest green, velvet couches offered guests a place to sit. Even a bicycle with greenery woven into the spokes hung from the tented ceiling.
The color palette was inspired by the Philbrook itself—from the building’s tones to the gardens to the sky. While the colors were more eclectic and vibrant than you see in some traditional wedding palettes, they were enchanting against the backdrop of the historic museum.
Paige began the evening in her ceremony dress from Reem Acra before changing into her first reception gown by Oscar de la Renta, a gorgeous floral number with a sleeved and high neck topper. She later emerged in Casa de Novia dress from her bridal portraits, a sleek, strappy look accompanied by her fresh updo. She laughs while explaining that her family questioned the many outfit changes, but Paige said it added to the fun.
And that’s not all—one more outfit and location change later, Paige, William, and their guests were celebrating disco-style at the after party. The night was so magical, no one wanted it to end. And this fabulous wedding party went out with a bang!
