Sweet summertime in San Antonio set the scene for Sarah and Christian’s wedding weekend.
Their guests explored the historic landmarks of the city, kicking off with a colorful welcome party at the iconic Alamo. (Which of course, they’ll always remember.)
Sarah chose the vibrant city of San Antonio for her wedding to ensure her beloved grandparents wouldn’t have to travel far to attend. As a result, she was able to spend a lot of time with her grandmother during the planning process. Even though her grandmother passed away before the wedding day, Sarah will always cherish the time she spent with her planning the wedding. “There is a reason for everything.”, Sarah shared. To honor her grandmother, Sarah wrapped a piece of her wedding dress around her bridal bouquet.
Sarah and Christian held their ceremony at the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. One of Sarah’s favorite moments of her wedding day was showing her dress, a romantic floral lace Mira Zwillinger, to her dad. This intimate moment will always be special to her. Later, as she walked down the aisle toward Christian, she thought, “Oh my goodness, we’re about to spend the rest of our lives together. And it’s going to be so fun!”
The couple didn’t have to wait long for the fun to begin. Following vows, they were showered with rose petals as they recessed from the church. Then, they made their way to the Argyle for reception festivities.
A celebration painted in pastels awaited, with flowers cascading from each table and towering candelabras glowing above each place setting. Under an impeccable floral arch, the newlyweds cut into their magnificent eight tier cake.
“I was so filled with adrenaline at the feeling of being married,” Sarah recalled. “We were with all of our family and friends, surrounded by people who love and support us– and it was just such a party!”
Sarah wanted to plan a wedding that was classy and timeless, but also bright and fun. She loved the wedding planning process with her mom. “It brought us so close together!”, she shared.
Guests danced the night away as the party ramped up with custom hats, an ice cream cart, and even a special guest appearance from the HEB Buddy! As Sarah and Christian made their exit, sparklers lit up their path. They rode away in a vintage convertible, filled with memories of the perfect weekend.
