A run in at a Houston hotspot, El Patio, was the start of a love story for Catherine and Weldon. “I was at dinner with my parents and our very close family friends. Weldon walked out of the restaurant and knew everyone at the table- my parents included, but we had never met! After that we kept running into each other, and went on our first date shortly after!” Catherine shared. After ten months of dating, Weldon proposed in the Texas hill country surrounded by their families and the same close friends from dinner the first night they met.
On June 3rd, 2023, Catherine and Weldon were married at Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Martin’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of love and family history. Catherine considers herself and Weldon to be sentimental people. Meaningful details were woven into their journey to their wedding day, from the ring Weldon proposed with to the dress that Catherine wore. “Weldon proposed with the diamond that had been given to his grandmother by his grandfather, who he was very close to. I wanted to wear a Carolina Herrera wedding dress because my mother also wore Carolina. My mom wore a dress from one of her first bridal collections and I am wearing a dress from her very last bridal collection.” The Martin’s decision to be married at Bishop’s Lodge stems from Catherine’s family history with the property beginning in the 1950s.
The beautiful architecture of Santa Fe coupled with Catherine’s taste for elegant design created the perfect scene for a wedding. We are honored to have been a part of your wedding celebration, Mr. & Mrs. Martin!
