It’s no secret everything is bigger in Texas, which includes the big skies that set over private ranches. With that, it does not get more Texan than an elegant, ranch wedding! These weddings are the perfect blend of destination and a wedding at home—sentimental yet out in the wild, wild, west. A ranch wedding usually consists of an outdoor ceremony with sweeping landscape views and a tented reception out in a field. Tents like Caroline Thompson’s were far from “rustic”, however. The tent was beautifully draped in layered neutrals and fine linens and did not disappoint in regards to the sunset. Like the sprawling wide open spaces, these wedding tents can be as large as the family desires—a fitting benefit! We will never forget Caroline and David’s iconic wedding singer that awaited guests inside the tent: none other than ‘Wave on Wave’ performer, Pat Green.
Another perk of a ranch wedding is you can leave in as grand of vehicle as you choose! John Cain Photography bride and groom Elizabeth Hutchison and Chase Andersonsurprisingly flew out in a black helicopter which landed in a field just outside the reception tent and carried the newlyweds away. Caroline and David took a similar approach and flew out in a private plane. As we’ve said, everything is bigger and more grand at a Texas, ranch wedding!
